Program Evaluation
Do you have a program that needs the help of an experienced evaluator?
The IPH can assist with or consult with you about evaluation design, instrument development, methodology, data collection, report writing and the presentation of results. We are also willing to train staff, examine evaluation systems and make recommendations to help you evaluate yourself! The IPH has been conducting high-quality evaluations in collaboration with community-based agencies since 1992.
Do you need help writing a grant proposal that includes an evaluation piece? If so, the IPH is available to work with you in the grant-writing and submission process.
Effective program evaluation can be a complex process. For a better understanding of what's involved, you may want to review The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Program Evaluation Framework.
Collaborative Research
Does your agency have an interest in participating with an academic institution in the development and implementation of a community/academic research project?
Many funding agencies are becoming increasingly interested in how the results of scientific research can be translated effectively into a public health practice setting. If this interests your agency, we are available to assist and coordinate the design and development of collaborative projects and will work with you from start to finish.
Data Collection, Management & Analysis
Do you need technical expertise in collecting and managing your data?
The IPH can help with the improvement of existing data collection instruments and systems, building electronic databases for on-site storage of collected data, or the analysis of existing data. We also have a staff of trained medical record abstractors who can abstract information from existing agency records for your use. We can provide these services for you, or train agency personnel to improve your organizational capacity. An example of such collaboration might include assistance in the development and utilization of existing data to monitor performance-based outcomes.
Professional Education & Training
Want help with training your staff or service providers?
The IPH has experience in the development of face-to-face trainings, conferences, and distance learning strategies including web-based training modules. We will research topics and help you to create content. We can offer training courses include continuing education units as needed by the target audience. The IPH is a provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing and a multiple event provider approved by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. The IPH is also available to coordinate guest lectures or presentations in topic areas of interest to your organization by identifying faculty at the GSPH with expertise in your area of interest. These can be provided in the traditional face-to-face formats or through web-based distribution systems. We can design websites, create images/animations, record audio, and more. We can even offer hosting services for your web pages, video, and SQL databases on our servers.
