Advanced Technology for the Exchange of Public Health Information

There is increasing concern among the public health community surrounding the storage and utilization of confidential electronic patient information, particularly the type of information that may be needed for research and evaluation purposes.

The IPH has developed expertise in the encryption, storage and transfer of confidential information used for research and evaluation purposes. IPH can develop databases for use on-site with appropriate transfer and aggregation protocols, or can design web-based data collection systems that are particularly useful for projects with multiple geographically distributed sites. Surveys can also be designed to be self-administered on-line, one of many methods of improving the response to distributed surveys.
